Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse V and Keyboard V freezes in Windows 7

Please check the following first:. Please check if the batteries are low; if so, please change some new batteries to check how it works.

Plug the receiver to another port and see if the issue occurs. Considering the issue is related to Microsoft Hardware and we have specified support for it, it is recommended that you contact our Hardware Support for further investigation.

Hope this issue will be resolved soon. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. In the future, if you experience any issues regarding our products or if you have any feedbacks, you are also welcome to post a new thread in our forum. It is always our pleasure to be of assistance. Thanks again. Hi, am wondering if you have resolved your problem with the v2 mouse yet as I am having the same problem and am using Windows 7 64bit.

Mouse and keyboard “freeze” or “go dead” for several seconds at random times. Tried batteries, different USB ports, software updates. That seems to solve it for some. Was freezing every 5 to 30 minutes before. WIn 7 64 bit NOT a cheap product. Mouse works great but Keyboard never did I tried all of the above all i get is the one time green flashig baterie and that is it.

However I noticed something else, for example during a game my keyboard stops responding randomly, or I thought it was random at first. Then I noticed that it stopped when I fired used the mouse when I pressed movement keys again heyboard started working again. In some forums I have found that it has a game mode. But it did not explain how to activate or where the settings are.

I am not even sure that information about gaming mode is accurate. This is very surprising USB 2. Something in the transceiver design is very wrong if it can’t handle USB 2.

After all, USB 3. Not being critical of your fix, just wondering why crippling the response time of the mouse should be the only solution? Many newer computers don’t even have USB 1. Maybe that’s why there is newer hardware than the series? Do you mean the small white button on the back of the keyboard? This is the button that synchronizes the keyboard signals to the transceiver. There is a smaller one on the back of the mouse, and re-synchronizing is one of the suggested fixes.

It only brought temporary relief for me. For all the MS recommeded fixes, see Document Number If all else fails as it did for me call the customer support line listed in the document for help and a possible hardware replacement. Have you looked at Document Number ? It describes all the recommended fixes for this problem.

I also have Win 7 bit Home Premium and tried all the fixes, none of which worked. I called the support number listed in the document and they are sending me a new mouse. Considering the number of posts I have seen on this problem here and elsewhere, it’s possible there is a QC issue with the hardware. So I had the same problems with the Microsoft Wireless keyboard and mouse v.

I have always been a Microsoft hardware guy, mice, keyboards, webcams etc.. I work in the technology industry so what people see me use matters as that is what I normally sell once customers ask me why I chose what I did.

Funny how that little change made all the difference Sorry Microsoft actually I’m not, really I am no longer ever going to purchase or recommend your hardware again. Logitech out of the box woks better and feels a little better too! The wireless wave is a sick keyboard. You should have supported me and given a fix, but no, you only offer links and downloads you know dont work.

Your Microsoft! My wireless v. Let someone else deal with it and try to fix.. I have other things to do, like start pushing and selling Logitech to my customers! I know that wont happen but it never hurts to ask.

Here are some of the things I found out:. Uninstall them and reboot with the drive disk in the CD. It will then install the software. It now will still not let me use any software on my wireless setup beyond 7.

I also tried using other ports. This would help for a while, then same problem. It was then that I realized that the crappy, and I do mean crappy, transmitter is too weak to communicate with the keyboard, which I suspect has the wireless recvr underneath it.

So I move the transmitter to the plug-in USB connector on the front of the computer. Very stylish I must say. The junk transmitter! I had to buy a mouse pad to use the grapefruit sized mouse or it was unable to navigate. My wife hates it. It is big, cumbersome, but the price you pay for having ergonomic. So, I also found that the mouse needs some extra pressure pushing down on it to work properly.

Once I got the knack of it, it solve a lot of the poor mouse movement. Fact 5 or so: When the keyboard freezes, pushing the white button on the keyboard doesn’t help.

Pressing the dot on the transmitter doesn’t help. Resetting the wireless mouse almost always restores the keyboard function. You realize there are 10’s of thousands of us with this problem and it will never be fixed. I too tried USB 3 and it was worse. I suspect this would work fine with 1. I have a USB extension cord. My next try will be to install the transmitter on the end of the extension and place the now free transmitter right next to the keyboard or under it and 6 inches from the mouse.

Wish me luck. Microsoft is sending me a new mouse and hopefully it will include a new transceiver as well. They have a dual channel receiver. No problems with the drivers going wonky on me that I remember, or the Inteli mouse or keyboard features. After Win7, started having “lost driver” and “hardware not found” issues much like lots of folks here in this topic. Seems to me that I remember upgrade wizard reported some issues, but I’d have to search for my update logs to be sure.

Base drivers comment also applies to W8. The fixes I apply to this are, with estimated success rate, and the order I usually take them in:.

If you’ve got them, attach another keyboard and mouse, unplug the transceiver USB, uninstall wireless devices, shutdown, plug wireless back in and re-detect. I’ve also used Remote Desktop connections to uninstall the drivers. I have also had to go into the registry Danger Will Robinson! Office Office Exchange Server. Not an IT pro? Windows Client.
