Hi, I was wondering who the frank were the Franks’?

I thought they were similar to the Saxon’s, but when I seen their faction unit It seemed like a half-cataphract thing. I am not sure if they had some nomadic culture mixed in with their culture or what, but it just seemed odd. Bigger Budget for game 3? They’re gonna need it for all of the monogod glory. Which will be the “4 distinct gods representing the different aspects of Chaos such as Khorne, Slaanesh, Tzeentch, and Nurgle.

Expect powerful elite cavalry, strong infantry, and throwing axes! The Franks never really took to the seas.

The Germans always had a tradition of heavy cavalry and after exposure to Rome, specifically units from the East I’m sure they adopted the near Cataphract look that was a staple of that image. They definitely look like an interesting Faction, and they will be one of my first few campaigns.

Its not as strange as the viking cavallery roster. I guess Inspiration is either that the Franks lost to cataphracts a crucial battle in 4th Century so they might have adopted or they are modelled after the Saga of Roland and the frankish paladins.

Arguably, they were the most successful and influential of the German tribes. Their three main legacies were the Kingdom of France named after them , the Holy Roman Empire became modern Germany and the advent of feudalism, and the heavy knight.
